“This is the role that grace plays when we’re in the midst of our test. God proves His faithfulness to us as He arms us each day with His unmerited and undeserved favor. Grace is the traveling companion that leaves home with us each day. ”
You may begin strong. But grace is needed in order to finish strong. Remember this as you begin your year that every runner begins with the idea of winning the race. But the level of tension and pain experienced in the middle of the race determines if the runner will endure or will they bail out of the race. Keep in mind that grace is the traveling companion that accompanies us each day. It is the second wind that we need to reach our goals… to make a fresh start. Use your God given tool wisely and remember to finish strong.
Morning thought. .. Have you ever considered the sources of your motivation? Yes sources. When it comes to motivation there are numerous factors involved. What about your inner circle? Do their conversations add value and motivation to your dreams?
Meditate on this for a moment… “Blessed is the person who does not follow the advice of wicked people, take the path of sinners, or join the company of mockers.” Psalm 1:1
Why is this person called blessed? Because they are mindful of who has access to their space. Consider this have you ever spoken to a friend and felt drained and discouraged afterwards? Because with the counsel of good friends come strength and edification (building up). Edification is not always a feel good experience. But as iron sharpens iron so will a true friend or companion. They will encourage us in ways that will cause us to acknowledge our purpose and pursue our dreams
.
My prayer for this day is that God will add people to my and your lives that will sharpen and motivate us to becoming who He intended for us to be. With that Happy New Year and New Beginnings!
” Self motivation is the internal driving force, a gift that God gives each of us to press forward pass discouraging circumstances towards a vision or dream that God has birth within us.”
The Art of Self-Motivation
Tomorrow marks the beginning of a New Year, and with the New Year comes a list of resolutions, challenges and goals. In reality most resolutions don’t last a month due to a lack of motivation. Yes a lack of motivation! To be honest I am all to familiar with falling into a place of complacency. Excuses such as I’m tired makes it all too easy to go home and fall asleep in the recliner instead of pushing myself down the street to the gym and put in an hour workout. Excuses! Excuses! We’re full of excuses!
Complacency
Complacency is the uninvited guest that comes and takes residence in many areas of our lives. Whether the goal is to stay in shape and improve our health or if it is to move forward from one place in life to a place of maturity, complacency always seems to find a small crack in our lives that drains life and blocks necessary growth. Do I have any witnesses? Some people are not able to leave the familiar places because leaving complacency requires one to enter into unfamiliar territory. Change is necessary. Pressing forward towards the mark, the goals, pass pain, pass stagnation…
Where does Motivation come from?
Wouldn’t it be nice to whip out a bit of motivation any time we lean towards passivity? But the truth is Motivation is not ourselves but it is within us.
“The One that is in you is greater than the one that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
Yes! I’m referring to God, the Father and Creator. He is known for many things. But when it comes to motivation He is the Source to rely on. His daily bread of inspiration, and encouragement is the intended fuel He has provided for us to run on.
“Motivation is activated by knowing our true place in God. ” The Act of Self Motivation
Jump Start your Day
Your Daily Routine should consist of:
Prayer-Commanding your day. Come face to face with God for instructions and directions for the day.
Reading the Word-Particularly meditating on a scripture that deals with the current issue(s) that you’re dealing or struggling with, or simply a scripture that reminds you of God’s goodness and the benefit of His Presence in your life. There’s power in meditating on His Promises through out the day. Meditation brings forth empowerment.
By doing these two things on a daily basis, you are a guaranteed to start up the engines of self motivation within you. Be empowered! Be motivated! Walk in strength on today!

Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian anymore than standing in a garage makes you a carLaurence J. Peter
Is it really about showing up every Sunday? Does your presence in His House guarantee an overflow of blessings in your life? A seat at His Feet? What really matters to the Father is that we learn to rest in His Presence. Not just on Sunday but seven days a week. That we would accept His Invitation to fellowship with Him. This invitation is not just extended to the elite, but to all those who are willing to chase after Him daily. Showing up is good. But it is much sweeter to be in an assembly of those who know how to rest at His Feet with ease and send forth worship that is a sweet savor to His Nostrils. Intimacy over formation… Worship versus entertainment… A day by day connection that assures you of every promise connected to your name…
A rest in His Presence during troubling times.
It is in His Presence that we experience peace and joy.
Today’s Confession Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him and bless His name.
Psalm 100:4
CONCENTRATION “Your eye is a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is good, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is bad, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!”Concentration refers to the power of the mind focusing. Eliminating distractions and idle thinking. Narrowing one’s gaze beyond mental roadblocks that would cause one to lose sight or freezes one’s steps in reaching a goal. What is your goal?Is your goal centered around your career? your finance? or your relationship or marriage?Do you not know that you have the Key of Wisdom before you that would enable you to obtain your goal? A “single eye” focus is solely centered and concentrated. There is no room for a wishy washy mindset. But a mindset that is “concentrated”…whole, and purified. Once the focus is set than the illumination, answers and remedy comes. “Concentration” is a daily pursuit of renewing our thought patterns. Aligning our thought with His Thoughts. Aligning our minds with His Mind. Believing everything that He says about us. So what’s keeping you from reaching your goals?
